Mark Wingar is Mr Stainless. A man of vast experience in engineering both on and off the water.

Mark and his team of engineers can take the most mangled, rusty fitting from your boat and design and build a nice shiny new one. Or, if you need your pushpit straightening after a close encounter of the irritating kind, they can do that too.

And, working in conjunction with Quantum Parker & Kay sailmakers, Mr Stainless will design and build a sprayhood, bimini or cockpit enclosure.

Since he opened up shop in the year 2000, Mark has built up a clientele who come back time after time for new work – from hotel kitchen stainless worktops and splashbacks, to balustrades with tempered glass infills, to yacht goalposts or simple stem protector plates.

Three premises

Mr Stainless now has three office/workshop bases covering Essex and Suffolk. As well as the Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington set-up on the River Orwell, he also has premises at Titchmarsh Marina at Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex and Gosbeck, near Ipswich, where he specialises in the production of 'sheet' metal fabrications including Boiler, Water / Fuel tanks, Kitchens and Balustrade handrail systems. Although specialising in stainless steel fabrication he also works with soft steel. Plus of course there are mobile workshop facilities.

Staircases and balustrades

And his expertise can be seen around East Anglia. Take a look at the new marina offices at Suffolk Yacht Harbour – Mr Stainless built the internal staircase and external balustrades – or spot the sparkling new balustrades with glass infills at Isaacs wine bar at Ipswich Dock. Plus of course there are yachts sailing all over the east coast sporting new pulpits, pushpits, goalposts, and sprayhoods all designed, built and fitted by Mr Stainless.
