Stemhead fittings by their nature need to endure a fair amount of punishment from having to handle chain when anchoring to holding a stowed anchor in place through heavy seas. More often than not, the forestay will mount to the stemhead fitting as well. For these and many more reasons, you want your stemhead to be of the highest quality and we are happy to ‘upgrade’ or certainly replace an existing fitting. You may for example only have a single fairlead where you might be better off with two or you may have an out-sized anchor that won’t fit in a production fitting.
